Membership

Membership is valid for the skating season, July through June. All members must complete a new membership packet at the start of each season before they can skate on club ice.

  • Junior members (those under 18 as of September 1st) must be represented in the club by a parent or guardian. Parents of junior members must fill out all the forms in the packet.
  • Senior members (18 and over) must fill out all the forms except the Parental Medical Release.
  • Non-skating members and board members must fill out the Membership Application and Code of Conduct Agreement.

All members of the Flagstaff Figure Skating Club are bound by the club's Code of Conduct. A copy of the Code of Conduct will be posted at the ice rink and is available here:

Club Sessions

FFSC sessions are for freestyle, ice dance, and pairs skating only. Skaters practicing a program to music must wear a belt, and has the right-of-way over all other skaters. Skaters in a lesson with their coach have priority over all other skaters except a skater doing their program. Skaters must watch for other skaters at all times. Do not stand around on the ice. Observe the club jumping and spinning zones as posted at the rink, or download a diagram here:

Trial Session

A prospective member may skate one free club session by arranging to work with an FFSC coach for at least part of the session. The purpose of the trial session is to let a skater try figure skating and club ice before committing to a membership.

Walk-On Sessions

Members of other USFSA clubs may skate on club ice by signing a waiver (available at the rink or by downloading a Membership Packet), and buying an FFSC session sticker. If you plan to retain your current membership in a different USFSA club but plan to skate frequently on FFSC ice, consider becoming an FFSC Associate Member. You can then can buy discounted session sticker packs. See the Club Ice page for details

Coaching and Ice Fees

Coaching fees are additional and are paid directly to the skater's coach. See the Coaches page for information on FFSC coaches. See the Club Ice page for details on FFSC ice sessions.

Membership Types

  • Introductory Membership: $35 for one year, new members only
  • Collegiate Membership: $95 for four years, one time only, must be attending or planning to attend college during the current season
  • First Family Membership: $55 per year
  • Subsequent Family Membership: $28 per year for additional members in the same household
  • Associate Membership: $30 per year, for members of other USFSA clubs who wish to skate on club ice

All FFSC members are also members of US Figure Skating and have the right to participate in all club activities, vote at general meetings (except Associate Members), enjoy a subscription to Skating magazine (except Associate and Subsequent Members), and may test and compete at US Figure Skating approved and sanctioned events.
